In any case, the typically mundane days are being punctuated once again by simple ups and downs. On the up side, I was officially accepted into the Art institute, though things aren't going very smoothly with the FAFSA and financial aid planning. Hopefully I'll begin classes in January, though I'm remaining characteristically pessimistic on the chances of that all coming together on time(though I do hope for the best regardless, if that's worth anything). On the down side, I discovered the surprising depths to which a cat will sink in order to spite you after you give it a bath(honestly, when did kitties become such vengeful creatures?! SHE DID IT ON PURPOSE, I KNOW IT!!) Really, if you want to give me an evil look after I bathe you because you do not like it, that's fine, but don't go and take a crap right on the bathroom drapes immediately afterwards! That's a low blow, especially since I have to wash them! Damn you, Atris...you've one-upped, me, I will admit...
But a major up is OH HAPPINESS!! My dad bought me a new vacuum cleaner! I told him previously that, since our old one is over 20 years old and falling apart, if he bought a new one, I'd never ask for anything ever again(this is a partial lie, which I hope he realizes...). I love this thing, too. It works so much better than our old one. I know getting excited over something like that might seem odd, but for one thing, I'm kind of an eccentric person, and for another, it was over $200, so I imagine my legendarily cheap Dad'll feel good if I go around celebrating him buying me a new vacuum cleaner as if he just bought me a new car. He seems to appreciate that sort of thing, almost as much as my feeble attempts to keep the house in order even with all the cat and dog hair that accumulates(my fault, I know, they're mostly my pets...)
Last partial up and partial down is the HORRORS I will soon face. I was informed that I will be kidnapped by the girls for a typical girl's night out which will include...going to see Twilight: New Moon. GRAH OF ALL THE UNHOLY THINGS...I HATE Twilight, with a passion that only vaguely knows any depth. I hated the first book when I made the mistake of reading it back in high school, I hated the first movie when I had to go see it TWICE with friends who, for some unfathomable reason, actually like that crappy story, and I still hate it. To be fair, I never made it past the first book, since I disliked it so much I broke my shallow ethical standards of always finishing a book or series no matter what, so I'm not sure what to expect going in to New Moon. More bad acting, annoying screaming fan girls, and stupid plot, of course, but at least now I won't know all the things that'll happen from reading the book.
Cheers everyone.
